Ragley Hall- A grand estate wedding venue based in The Midlands

When you arrive at Ragley Hall, you’re greeted by the grand, gravelled drive leading up to the majestic stairs and balcony at the front of the hall. It’s a sight that immediately gives off a sense of grandeur, yet as you step inside, you're welcomed by a homely, warm atmosphere that echoes the estate’s rich history as a family home. Situated in the heart of Warwickshire’s countryside, Ragley Hall is a stunning country estate wedding venue, surrounded by acres of beautifully manicured grounds - creating the perfect backdrop for a luxurious and unforgettable wedding day.

As a Midlands wedding photographer, I had the pleasure of capturing a wedding at Ragley Hall on a beautiful Autumn day.

We made the most of the stunning interiors that Ragley Hall has to offer, beginning with the breathtaking staircase, which boasts a hand-painted wall mural that features animals and family members who have lived and worked at this estate for generations. This truly unique feature provides an interesting and beautiful backdrop for wedding photos and will definitely become a talking point for your guests!

Autumnal Florals

The main hall had been decorated with stunning autumnal florals, featured around the epic marble fireplace, which was the gorgeous feature within the large room. A winding table was central to the room which created a perfect space for a wedding breakfast and was decorated perfectly with floral tablecloth, fruits, flowers and candles. Your choice of flowers, and colours will be so important to the feel of the day. These colours, created such a warm, cosy energy to the day, which perfectly reflected the Autumnal season.

Your Ceremony Layout

This hall is the gorgeous backdrop to any wedding ceremony as well as wedding breakfast,  the panoramic views from the front of the building, overlooking the long drive and surrounding countryside, make this a truly memorable space to exchange vows and enjoy the celebrations with your guests. Creating a wedding aisle with your chairs is such a fun way to have your ceremony layout. If space allows, consider your guests sitting either side of the aisle, this is such a great idea, to really make your guests feel like they are part of your ceremony, and gives everyone such a great view, and literally means that you will say your vows surrounded by your friends and family!

Choosing your venue

One of the most important choices you will make on your wedding day is where you will get married. Your venue will literally be the backdrop to your entire day. Make sure you love all the elements of your wedding venue, whether you are choosing a grand estate hall like Ragley Hall or a smaller, intimate venue, your wedding venue will set the tone for your day from the minute you arrive!

Cake Cut with a difference

If you want to do a cake cut on your wedding day, but want to do something slightly less traditional, then here are some Tips on how add a touch of glamour to the traditional wedding cake cut….

Using a champagne flute to cut your cake may sound unconventional, but it’s a unique twist that adds flair to your celebration!

How to do it:

Ensure that your champagne flute is clean and sturdy. Then, simply press the base of the glass onto the cake’s surface and gently twist while applying slight pressure. The flute will make a beautiful, clean cut—no messy edges, just a perfectly portioned slice every time! This creates a perfect photo opportunity for the cake cut! We did this in the Vaulted Hall at Ragley Hall, a space that’s perfect for such a glamorous twist. With its glittering dance floor and shimmering disco balls, this was also the perfect setting for a first dance that no one will forget.

Ragley Hall truly embodies the grandeur and warmth of a Midlands wedding venue. As an editorial wedding photographer, I always find myself inspired by the blend of historical elegance and the natural beauty that surrounds the estate. If you're looking for a wedding venue that’s rich in character and offers endless possibilities for your big day, Ragley Hall is truly one-of-a-kind.
