I had the absolute pleasure of spending a day at Wootton Hall for a styled shoot with the amazing Phoebe and Jim and got to capture their love within the walls and grounds of this breathtaking venue, along with inspiration for colourful pastel florals, and a modern, yet timeless backdrop.

Morning Prep

We began in one of the luxurious bedrooms—a serene space, ideal for the morning preparations. When choosing a spot to get ready, natural daylight is key. Your makeup artist will thank you for it, and you’ll definitely want to see your look in natural light before the big moment! It’s also important to have enough space for everyone who’ll be there with you—nothing should feel cramped, especially on such a significant day. Ensure there’s room for drinks (trust me, you’ll need them!) and some snacks (definitely try to have a snack in the morning). And one last tip: keep things tidy. You’ll want your photos to be filled with beauty, not random bags, suitcases, or crumpled PJs in the background!

Photographing Jim in another of Wootton Hall’s stunning rooms offered the perfect space for him to relax and enjoy a quiet moment. The beauty of this venue is that there are plenty of areas for both partners to get ready, unwind, and feel comfortable before the celebrations begin. Whether it’s a place to have a drink, steal a few moments of calm, or get portraits taken, Wootton Hall makes sure both of the people getting married equally have space to truly enjoy the morning.

Wedding Florals

The florals from The Bunch Studio (https://www.bunchstudio.co.uk/) added so much magic to the venue, transforming it into the ideal setting for an intimate wedding day. Soft pastel hues of peaches, pinks, whites, and greens adorned the tables, creating a romantic atmosphere perfect for a spring wedding. The florals beautifully complemented the pink stationery from Smitten With Ink (https://www.smittenwithink.co.uk/), which brought a touch of whimsy to the day’s design. A small yet impactful detail—fruit incorporated into the table décor—added a fresh, fun twist, and tied everything together with the wedding’s colour palette.

Dessert Tables

One of my favourite touches was the dessert table. Instead of a single wedding cake, there was a display of delectable sweet treats. I absolutely love this idea! It’s a wonderful way to give your guests options and create an eye-catching display that also adds an extra layer of aesthetic beauty to the day. Plus, who doesn’t love a little variety when it comes to dessert?

The Backdrop

The backdrop! When modern, minimalist and romantic combine THIS is what you can get! I am obsessed with this backdrop. So simple, yet so effective. Backdrops are such a huge trend right now, and I hope they stick around for a while. With so many different shapes, materials, textures and colours. You can use a backdrop to elevate any part of your day. With Phoebe and Jim, this simple white block backdrop acted as a stage for them to be the main characters of a day. And they absolutely smashed it! Timeless, and elegant!

This shoot was so wonderful to be a part of. Capturing beautiful details, in a luxurious venue, with a couple who absolutely adore one another. And working with some of the industries best wedding suppliers! It does not get better than that!
