A Summer Wedding at Marylebone Town Hall and Stanley's, Chelsea
There is something incredibly special about a wedding day that feels completely centred around the people who matter most. No big production, no unnecessary fuss, just meaningful moments, heartfelt connection, and the joy of gathering loved ones together in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
This gorgeous summer wedding began at Marylebone Town Hall, where the couple chose the iconic Westminster Room for their ceremony. Bathed in soft summer light, the space felt wonderfully warm, personal and relaxed. The perfect setting for such an emotional and heartfelt celebration. As a London wedding photographer, I capture the elegance and atmosphere of weddings at Marylebone Town Hall, and it always feels incredibly special, especially when paired with an editorial approach that blends timeless storytelling with modern, refined imagery.

One of the most touching moments of the ceremony came during a heartfelt reading by the brideās grandad. In a room already filled with emotion, his words brought an even deeper sense of love, history, and family connection to the day. You could feel the atmosphere shift as every guest listened so intently; it was one of those beautifully quiet moments that seemed to pause time completely. These are often the memories that stay with couples long after the wedding day itself, and it was incredibly special to capture such genuine emotion as a London wedding photographer.
Ceremonies at Marylebone Town Hall typically last anywhere between 15ā30 minutes, depending on how many readings, personal vows, or musical performances you choose to include. One of the reasons couples are so drawn to weddings at Marylebone Town Hall is how personal and flexible the experience can feel. Despite being one of Londonās most iconic registry venues, the Westminster Room still manages to feel intimate, elegant, and full of character ā especially when flooded with beautiful natural summer light.
After the ceremony, guests are expertly guided outside by the wonderful Town Hall staff, creating a seamless transition into one of the most exciting parts of the day: couple portraits inside the iconic interiors of Marylebone Town Hall. The opulent marble staircases, grand archways, and soft neutral tones make it an absolute dream location for editorial wedding photography. As a London wedding photographer who has photographed many weddings at Marylebone Town Hall, I know just how quickly this part of the day moves. Having experience with the venue's pace means I can work efficiently while keeping everything relaxed and enjoyable for my couples. My approach is always focused on creating timeless, natural imagery without making anything feel overly posed or rushed, allowing you to soak in those first moments of being newly married while we capture stunning portraits together.
One of my favourite parts of photographing weddings at Marylebone Town Hall is undoubtedly the iconic confetti moment on the front steps. Thereās always such an incredible energy as guests gather outside, cheering while confetti fills the air around the couple, as well as passers-by cheering, and the occasional beep from a passing car or bus! Itās one of those classic London wedding moments that never loses its magic and always looks incredible in photographs.
TOP TIP: biodegradable paper confetti photographs beautifully because it stays floating in the air for longer, creating a fuller and more dramatic effect in your images. Itās also much kinder to the environment and tends not to cling to hair and clothing in the same way dried petals often do! With many of the guests travelling down from Scotland to celebrate in London, the day also became a chance to experience the city together. And London truly delivered. The capital was glowing under blue skies and summer sunshine, the kind of rare hot day that makes the entire city feel alive.
Following the ceremony, guests climbed aboard an open-top bus for the journey from Marylebone to Chelsea. Travelling through London in the sunshine, waving at passers-by and taking in the iconic streets along the way, added such a fun and memorable part to the celebrations. It gave everyone time to relax, chat, and soak in the atmosphere before the next part of the day began. (Just be very aware of low-hanging branches!)
The celebrations continued at the beautiful Stanley's in Chelsea, where the wedding breakfast was held in their stunning Garden Room. Hidden away amongst the bustle of the city, the space feels like a secret summer oasis. Filled with natural light and greenery, it creates the feeling of dining in a garden while still being right in the heart of London.
It was the perfect setting for this coupleās vision of the day, intimate, relaxed, and focused entirely on spending quality time with the people they love most. Guests enjoyed long conversations over dinner, glasses raised in celebration, and the kind of atmosphere that can only happen when everyone feels completely comfortable and present.
From the emotional ceremony in Westminster Room to the sun-soaked journey across London and the relaxed garden-party feel of Chelsea, this wedding was a beautiful reminder that the most meaningful celebrations are often the simplest ones; filled with love, laughter, and time shared together.
