A Sudeley Castle Wedding - A unique luxury wedding venue set in the heart of the cotswolds.

Want to make your own history? There’s not a better venue to do it then Sudeley Castle. If you’re looking for a magical venue set in the cotswolds, then this castle is the ultimate blend of historic, grandeur, romance and beauty all rolled into one.

With over 1,000 years of history, Sudeley Castle is not just a venue—it’s a place where you can walk in the footsteps of royalty and create a legacy of your own. Set amongst the most wonderful gardens and ruins, this is a venue like no other and will be the most incredible backdrop to your wedding day, and will be a venue that will give your guests the wow factor!

If you take a walk through the grounds and gardens of Sudeley Castle, you will come across an array of breathtaking areas which offer endless possibilities to make your wedding day magical. From rolling Cotswolds hills, formal rose gardens and manicured lawns to romantic ruins and ancient archways. The venue allows you to have both outdoor and indoor wedding locations, which make planning your day even more exciting, choosing a venue which will allow for many alternatives or any hiccups that you could face along the way (the main example is the rain, in the UK climate!)

If you’re looking for the more traditional feel of the day, The on-site St Marys Chapel is the perfect way to have a church wedding. Set in the heart of the Sudeley gardens, this ceremony space allows you to hold your vows within the walls of a beautiful, stained glass windowed chapel, which dates all the way back to the 11th century. Or if you’re looking for a more intimate space, the Library offers a warm and cosy feel, which also holds space for a collection of rare books, antiques and tapestries which are some of the Castle’s most treasured pieces.

Adding in a touch of glamour the day is the stunning light filled Orangery and adjoining Castle Coach House and bar offer versatile spaces to continue your wedding from ceremony into reception.  The elegant glass structure offers a classical blank canvas to transform this space into your dream venue. With views off the Cotswolds hills, this sunlit location is the perfect space to hold your wedding breakfast.

An Editorial Shoot at Sudeley Castle: Capturing Magic Amidst the History

I had the privilege of photographing an editorial shoot at Sudeley Castle on a moody March day, and even in the chill and drizzle, the beauty of the venue was undeniable. The castle’s timeless charm doesn’t fade with the weather; it stands tall, ready to reveal its majesty in every season.

Working with Sam and Tami was an absolute joy. They brought an infectious energy to the shoot, dancing and laughing through the cold. Their chemistry shone through every frame, and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect couple to photograph in such a stunning setting.  We began the shoot in the gardens of Sudeley Castle, next to St Mary’s Chapel, which had been adorned in the most beautiful  flower arch thank you to the amazing talent of Sass Flower. A way to reflect the beauty of the surrounding gardens. Tami wore an exquisite gown from Jean Jackson Couture, a timeless dress with a dramatic, puffed-out skirt and long train that gave off the perfect "runaway bride" vibe. Paired with large drop earrings and a delicate white bouquet, she was the epitome of a chic, elegant bride. Sam looked dashing in a classic black-tie tuxedo, proving that a tux will never go out of style.

The Cake: A Showstopper in Every Way

In the afternoon we were lucky enough to have a shoot in the library room, with it’s rare antiques, seeped in history, this was a perfect backdrop to a couple shoot. Featuring the biggest wedding cake I have ever seen, from the incredible talent of Anna Lewis Cake Design. If you want a cake that will give the wow factor than this is certainly the way to do it. A cake so large that it looks like it’s the third wheel to your wedding day!

Tami also switched things up with a stunning outfit change into a silk two-piece in the Library. The ethereal skirt and bodice combo added a touch of glamour to the shoot, showcasing yet another side of her bridal style.

Wedding Draping

The perfect way to elevate any space and create a magical space which you will remember forever. Draping is a trend, that I do hope stays around for a long time. I think it is the best way to upgrade a blank canvas and create a personal touch to a day. For this shoot,  a stunning tablescape was set up in the Orangery, complete with an incredible floral centrepiece that ran the full length of the table. The result was an elegant and romantic setup that would make any wedding breakfast feel unforgettable.

A Cotswolds Wedding to Remember

Sudeley Castle is not only the perfect venue for your wedding day, but it’s also a beautiful spot to revisit for anniversaries and special memories for years to come. As one of the most enchanting Cotswolds wedding venues, you’ll never tire of its beauty—and each return will allow you to relive the magic of your wedding day in a place that feels like home.
