An Intimate Spring Wedding at The Belsfield Hotel, Lake Windermere

I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MUCH I LOVED THIS WEDDING. IT WAS THE PERFECT DAY, IN THE MOST AMAZING SETTING WITH SOME AWESOME PEOPLE! THANK YOU SOPHIE AND ELLIOT FOR NOT ONLY INVITING ME TO CAPTURE YOUR DAY, BUT FOR MAKING ME FEEL APART OF IT!!

When Sophie and Elliot first got in touch with me about their Lake District elopement in Lake Windermere, I was so excited – they were planning the most relaxed and romantic wedding with an intimate ceremony, and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

Getting ready

I began the morning with Sophie, her sister and mom in a stunning room with the most amazing view of Lake Windermere, where the girls were relaxing before the big event! It was an awesome morning chilling out and listening to music before the festivities began. Elliot and his brother were getting ready down the hall, which was ace to be able to pop in on them getting ready and seeing their excitement before the ceremony.

The vows

The wedding took place in a stunning room in The Laura Ashley hotel, and was a beautiful intimate ceremony. They had some beautiful readings, which brought pretty much everyone to tears. After the ceremony they were showered with confetti, and then the celebrations began.

The afternoon

It was a bright and sunny day, which is so unusual for the Lake District. It was so hot, we felt like we were abroad. While the guests hung around drinking prosecco and playing french boules, we headed 5 minutes down to road to a beautiful jetty where we took some gorgeous photographs in front of the beautiful water. We were greeted by the locals who were busy sunbathing on the secluded beach, swimming in the lake and relaxing on their boats. Everyone congratulated Sophie and Elliot and even bought them some prosecco to celebrate with! Sophie was a trooper climbing down loads of steps and over the pebbly beach in heels to get some epic pictures.

For the evening they had a live singer and guitarist, which went down a storm. The music was great and got everyone on their feet dancing away into the night!
