When Amy and Joe first got in touch with me about their Easter wedding in Aston Marina, I was so thrilled – they were planning the most relaxed spring wedding with an outdoor ceremony, lawn games and even an easter egg hunt for the kids. I was friends with Amy and Joe back when they first started dating 12 years ago, I haven’t seen them for years so it was an absolute honour for them to have invited me to their day!! They are the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

The vows

The wedding took place outdoors at the wonderful Boat House, and was the most emotional ceremony I have ever witnessed. From the moment Joe and Amy laid eyes on one another they were in tears, which set everyone off. It was such a beautiful ceremony to watch, and be witness to two people who truly love one another was just fantastic. After the ceremony they walked down the aisle together and were showered with colourful confetti, and then the party began.

The afternoon

The wedding reception took place at The Boat House, which they’d decorated with spring goodness!! The tables were draped in grass and tulips, adding a rustic charm to the day. Each table was named by a different type of chocolate- which was then given as favours to the guests. It was so unique.

It was a sunny, cloudless day, which was glorious. While the guests played lawn games, the couple mingled and laughed with their friends. During the reception they played giant Jenga, which gave the afternoon a really chilled vibe.

They say if you’re planning a wedding; DO NOT STRESS!! There’s really no need! Lists are your best friend! Do not worry about the little bits- you will not care when it comes to the day! * Never argue when planning- *Get friends/family involved they love to help, it takes the stress off you and they feel more involved! ENJOY IT!!
