Mathew and Phil wanted a relatively small, relaxed and intimate wedding with the people which meant most to them- this is exactly what they got for their big day!!

When Mathew and Phil first got in touch with me about their Tower Hill Barns wedding in Wrexham, I was so excited – they were planning the most relaxed barn wedding with an intimate ceremony, Mathew and Phil are the sweetest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding! I had photographed a wedding at Tower Hill barns previously, and could not wait to return!!

Here’s what made Mat and Phil decided to get married where they did; “ We fell in love with the venue the second we saw it. It had a wonderfully relaxed and intimate vibe which is exactly what we were looking for. We viewed a number of venues, but knew instantly that Tower Hill Barns was right for us. We were told by other people that you would know the right venue when you see it- we didn’t believe them… but they were right!!”

The excitement before the wedding

I rocked up at Tower Hill Barns, where the grooms were getting ready together in the beautiful country house which is attached to the Barn. It was such an exciting morning as both grooms, their groomsmen, bridesmaids and parents were all getting ready and having breakfast here together, this kicked the day off straight away with fun and excitement!!

The vows

The wedding party were able to walk the short few minutes from the barn house to the barn where they entered the room together and walked down the aisle hand in hand. The wedding took place in a stunning intimate room. They had some beautiful readings, which brought pretty much everyone to tears!

After the ceremony

The wedding reception took place in the same venue which was great for everyone. The weather was absolutely perfect, for an autumn wedding it was so nice for the guests to be able to relax outside. The barn area was beautiful, which was adorned with rustic flowers to fit their theme, along with lots of photos of the two of them which made it so much more personal and unique. It was beautiful. All the guests were able to mingle together, while I whisked the happy couple off to take some portraits in the stunning grounds!

The evening

On the evening they had a live band kick off the festivities which meant that the dance floor which was so packed out, which was ace!! The fire pits in the grounds were lit, which meant that everyone had such a fun night roasting marshmallows, before the couple had a sparkler send off!!

The advice they have to others planning their wedding; Mathew says; get a spreadsheet!! Phil says; Don’t let the wedding planning overtake you, just enjoy watching it unfold!
