A Fun Relaxed Summer Wedding in The Cotswolds

Rosie + Chris' day was exactly what a wedding is all about for me. Full of friends and family enjoying a very relaxing, fun day in a STUNNING setting!

When Chris and Rosie first got in touch with me about their Cowley Manor wedding in The Cotswolds, I was so thrilled – they were planning a relaxed countryside wedding, in a stunning venue. I have shot previously at this venue and just loved it and couldn’t wait to return there and photograph their big day!

The whole day took place at Cowley Manor which was awesome! Having the whole day in one place really meant everyone could relax from the get go! The venue was adorned with gorgeous flowers, created by Rosie's florist bridesmaid. It was beautiful, and so personal to have the help of best friends!

It was a beautifully sunny day, which was perfect. While the guests hung around drinking prosecco, we wandered around the venue having a good chat and taking some stunning portraits!

During the reception their guests played lawn games, which went down a storm. Even though the jenga got a bit competitive with balancing random things on top… and no-one really knew how to play swing ball! For the meal they had proper wedding grub, and it was loved by all the guests. After the wedding breakfast they cut the wedding cake.. Well they cut the caterpillar heads off the awesome Mr + Mrs caterpillar cakes from M&S- They were great!!!! The party got started and everyone hit the dance floor. They also had an AWESOME band, which was a huge hit!!!

The couple

Chris and Rosie met 10 years ago… As all true love stories go, it began on a cold, dark night at a sweaty Preston nightclub. Having shown Rosie his skills on a hockey pitch earlier that day, and knowing that she'd never survive a northern student club night, Chris knew the way to Rosie's heart: a hoody, snacks and Pirates of the Caribbean marathon.

What made you want to have me as your photographer for your big day?

”We wanted someone who has photographed Cowley, we stalked you on Instagram then and fell in love with you when we visited your website and found out how down to earth you are! Is that creepy?”

What made you decide to get married where you did?

“We stopped off at Cowley when Rosie spotted it on Instagram as we were very early for visiting another venue, we asked if they could give us a quick tour and were blown away with the whole place and the other venues simply didn’t compare!”

They say if you’re planning a wedding;, There’s no need at all to stress! Have the wedding that you want and not what you think other people expect.
